Listening & Reading Group: Irish Diasporic Maternal Breath Exploring Maternal Relationships, Transgenerational Memory, and Breath

£0.00

This guided, embodied listening and reading group explores how we and our texts breathe. Through guided breathwork and reading, we engage with maternal relationships, transgenerational memory, and breath. Participants are invited to bring something that resonates with these themes—a text, memory, story, or photo—something personal or something chosen.

These sessions take place in brave spaces—environments designed to encourage meaningful engagement, openness, and respectful dialogue. Brave spaces recognize that challenging conversations and moments of discomfort can be integral to deeper understanding and transformation. Participants are encouraged to step beyond their comfort zones in a supportive, reflective, and non-judgmental environment, where different perspectives can be explored with care. Each session will be clearly signposted to navigate the affective terrains, and an address form will be sent beforehand to ensure participants feel prepared.

Our anchor texts for these sessions will include:📖 Edna O’Brien’s writings📖 Chantal Akerman’s My Mother Laughs
