Irish Catholic Maternal: Irigarayan Shared Air,

Embodied Research

In Brief: Previous Embodied Workshops

This page highlights a range of my past embodied workshops that reveal the transformative potential of collaborative, practice-based research. In these sessions, participants engage in performative readings, shared breathwork, and hands-on exercises that blend critical theory with lived experience. Focusing on themes such as maternal memory, transgenerational affect, and Irish Catholic identity, these workshops create dynamic “brave spaces” where academic inquiry meets creative exploration. Each session encourages collective reflection and improvisation, inviting participants to reimagine and reinterpret our shared histories.

I have also collaborated extensively with dancers, choreographers, practitioners, researchers, and artists—including Esmeralda Valencia, the Women’s Art Library, researcher Sara Simić, Central European University researcher Daphna Westerman, and dancer, choreographer, and curator Jiaying Gao—as well as with the Counterfield research team.
