Angelos Streklas

Angelos Streklas is a musician and instrumentalist born in Athens, Greece. He studied physics and electrical engineering, but he has also explored creativity by visual and audio means.

His main focus is stringed instruments from the Eastern Mediterranean. He started connecting more with his greek culture when moved to the UK in 2010, where he formed a small band of greek folk music playing bouzouki and saz. While in Greece in 2014, he participated in a Rembetiko band in Athens, playing in restaurants in the northern suburbs.

In 2015, he moved to Barcelona, Spain where he got in contact with musicians from Greece, Turkey, Spain and Italy playing along in parties, fiestas and music bars, balkan, oriental and rembetiko music.

He also explores music as a meditative mean, inspired from anatolian and greek traditions.

In 2024, he collaborated with embodied meditation workshops with other artists and participants.
